Each team member has been chosen over years of working together in retreat environments, ensuring not only a high level of professional expertise, but also the right energy, empathy, and presence. Our team truly lives what they teach, combining knowledge in movement, recovery, mindfulness, and wellbeing with a grounded, compassionate approach.

Jan holds a degree in Business and Marketing and is the founder of Boot Camp Marbella, which he has successfully led for over 15 years. While his professional background is rooted in performance-based training, his journey has naturally evolved toward a deeper focus on balance, longevity, and overall well-being. With years of experience coordinating retreats, managing teams, and creating high-quality guest experiences, Jan now brings these skills into The Balance Flow Wellness Retreat, ensuring every element is thoughtfully curated and seamlessly delivered. His understanding of structure, flow, and guest care allows participants to fully relax, knowing that every detail has been carefully considered. As the main coordinator, Jan oversees all aspects of the retreat — from the moment guests book to the day they return home — creating an environment that feels supportive, calm, and professionally organised. His goal is simple: to provide a smooth, nurturing, and enriching wellness experience where guests can truly switch off, reset, and reconnect.

Lori has devoted over 30 years to the art of mindful movement, body awareness, and holistic well-being. Her journey began as a professional dancer, cultivating a deep understanding of movement, balance, and expression, before naturally evolving into a lifelong dedication to yoga and therapeutic bodywork. A certified Jivamukti Yoga instructor, Lori has extensively studied a wide range of yoga disciplines, including Iyengar, Anusara, and Ashtanga, allowing her to blend fluidity with precision in her teaching. Her signature flow-style yoga is rooted in intelligent alignment, breath awareness, and restorative practices, creating sessions that are both nourishing and deeply grounding. Based in Marbella, Lori teaches regular classes and leads retreats and workshops across Europe and India, bringing a wealth of international experience and cultural depth to the Balance Flow Wellness Retreat. Her approach is inclusive, intuitive, and adaptable — meeting each participant exactly where they are. In addition to her yoga expertise, Lori is also trained as a massage and Thai massage therapist, further enriching the retreat experience with a therapeutic and holistic perspective. Lori oversees the structure, rhythm, and content of the retreat, ensuring a harmonious flow that supports relaxation, restoration, and inner balance throughout the entire experience.

Cristina González Fernández brings grace, depth, and decades of expertise to the Flow Balance Retreat as our Head Pilates Instructor. With a professional background in ballet, Cristina’s journey into Pilates was a natural evolution—one rooted in precision, body awareness, and mindful movement. A fully qualified Pilates instructor, Cristina has completed advanced and internationally recognised training programs around the world, continuously refining her craft to the highest standard. Her teaching blends classical Pilates principles with contemporary techniques, creating sessions that are both elegant and deeply effective. For many years, Cristina has been at the helm of a successful Pilates studio in the north of Spain, where she built a strong reputation for her intuitive teaching style and her ability to connect movement with wellbeing. While she continues her work there, she is now also launching a new Pilates studio here in Marbella, bringing her expertise to an exciting new chapter. During the Flow Balance Retreat, Cristina will guide guests through a carefully curated Pilates experience, including Barre Pilates, Mat Pilates, and Reformer Pilates. Her sessions are designed to improve strength, posture, flexibility, and inner balance—always with a strong focus on mindful movement and holistic wellness. Passionate, inspiring, and deeply committed to her practice, Cristina creates a supportive and uplifting environment where every participant feels seen, challenged, and empowered. Her classes are a true highlight of the retreat experience, offering the perfect blend of flow, control, and restoration.

Layla Akassab Lopez brings over three decades of personal yoga practice into her teaching, offering a deeply grounding and enriching experience for our retreat guests. Her journey began in the early 1990s and has continually evolved, shaped by a passion for mindful movement, self-awareness, and holistic wellbeing. She completed her Hatha Yoga teacher training in the Anusara tradition in 2018, earning her Elements certification, and advanced to the Inspired level in May 2023. In addition, Layla is a certified BarreFit instructor, allowing her to seamlessly blend strength, mobility, and grace into her sessions. At our wellness retreat, Layla guides guests through a variety of practices including Yin Yoga, Hatha Flow, Power Yoga, and Meditation. Her classes are thoughtfully designed to restore balance, build inner strength, and encourage a meaningful connection between mind and body. With her calm presence and intuitive teaching style, Layla creates a welcoming space where guests can slow down, reconnect, and leave the mat feeling refreshed, centered, and deeply nourished.

Daniele Fonte brings an inspiring blend of athletic excellence, discipline, and wellbeing to our wellness retreat experience. Her journey in sports and fitness began in childhood through swimming and volleyball, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to movement and health. She later spent four years as a competitive bodybuilder in Brazil, where she developed in-depth knowledge of strength training, muscle development, and the mental resilience required for high performance. This experience shaped her precise and results-driven approach, which she now adapts thoughtfully to suit individuals at every fitness level. Daniele specializes in personalized training for weight loss and body transformation, helping clients achieve sustainable results while building confidence and strength. At the retreat, she leads energizing spinning sessions as well as targeted lower-body workouts focused on glutes and legs, combining intensity with smart, safe programming. Complementing her training expertise, Daniele also creates tailored nutritional plans to support a variety of goals — from fat loss and muscle gain to maintaining a balanced, healthy lifestyle — always taking into account individual needs and preferences. Currently, Daniele is embracing a new challenge as she trains for Ironman competitions, balancing swimming, cycling, and running in an intensive endurance program. Her versatility, dedication, and passion for continuous growth inspire guests to reconnect with their bodies, challenge their limits, and leave the retreat feeling stronger, motivated, and empowered.
